Highly motivated Doctor of Public Health student with international public health experience. Marissa received her Masters of Public Health (MPH) concentrating on Global Health with an emphasis on Infectious Disease Surveillance along with a certificate in Socio-Contextual Determinants of Health from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. By identifying these subject areas Marissa aspires to allocate resources for low- and middle-income countries while simultaneously implementing mental, physical and global health initiatives through grants, fundraising, and operational infrastructures.

Marissa has had extensive experiences with non-communicable diseases (Diabetes, Hypertension & Cardiovascular disease), infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS), neglected tropical diseases (Malaria), monitoring & evaluation, data analysis, coding, cleaning and informatics research. Marissa hopes to raise awareness around health disparities and stay on the cutting edge of public health practices.

Through her experiences stateside and internationally, previous undergraduate and graduate level courses focused in the psychology, medical, public and environmental health fields, she is applying concepts she has learned in the classroom that will aide in her future endeavors as a leader in the vast mecca of public health.
